Hey Folks,
Wow. You know I recommend using Draft2Digital as one of your ebook distributors. Part of the reason is the smooth user interface on their website. Another (big) reason is that they are teamed with Books2Read to provide a Universal Link for your book.
Ostensibly, this means you can post that Universal Link on your website, Facebook or wherever. When would-be readers click the link, it shows them all the stores where your book is available. They they can click on the link for their favorite store to buy your book.
All well and good, mostly.
Purely by accident, I found out this morning that the Universal Link for one of my books led to only one retailer, and a minor one at that.
At first I thought I’d have to manually add each retailer myself, a very time-consuming process.
Then I saw a “Rescan Now” button. I pressed that and it rescanned and added stores it had missed before.
Still, I have over 200 publications. So I have an email in to Books2Read asking whether there’s a way to do a bulk scan. I doubt there is, but I’m hopeful.
Anyway, if you use Draft2Digital as one of your distributors, be sure to check your universal links from time to time.

Because Dean’s considering buying books from indie publishers for his North by Northwest bookstore, I’m standing up the website for StoneThread Publishing again. I’ll spend most of the day on that.
Probably my author site will remain pretty much as-is, with all the novels, etc. there as well. And even though my short story collections will be featured at StoneThread, the individual short stories themselves will be only at my main site.
