Hey Folks,
Well, due to recent events, I’m shuffling my writing. For the first time I can remember, I have three works in progress: The Origin Novel (tentative title); “Storytellers,” the first short story of an eventual collection that will be titled The Less-Relatable Tales of a Desperado; and Autobiography, another novel I started this morning.
The Origin Novel will continue as the primary work, occasionally but barely abated, because it’s what I want to write. I’ve wanted to write it for several years, but realized that fact only recently.
The short story and the ensuing eventual collection is on the back burner for awhile. I suspect I’ll finish it eventually because it’s a Good Story, but not right now.
Autobiography is another novel that I’ll write in two parts. The first part will be about the most significant person in my own life (fictionalized), the one who set my foundation. The second will be about me and my life from the time I joined the Marine Corps. I might add a third part about how it would go if I did it over again.
This morning I wrote a kind of structure, putting down facts that I’ll expand later. I’ve never started like that before, but that’s what it wanted.

Finally to the Hovel at around 8:30. I wrote a bit more on Autobiography, strictly because some thoughts occurred and I wanted to get them put down.
My friend came over and I went with him to inspect the well that feeds my house (the water pressure’s been surging), then to help him throw a tarp over some hay.
Finally back to the Hovel and finally to The Origin Novel just before 10.
A few short sessions and a few phone calls later, and by 1:30 I had only slightly over 1000 words. So today will be a light day, of sorts. All told, I’ve already surpassed my dail goal, so I’m taking off the rest of the day to begin fresh tomorrow.
There probably won’t be a Journal on Friday or Saturday and maybe Sunday this week as I’ll be on the road.
