Freebies
We’ve had a few new subscribers recently to TNDJ, so I thought I’d put out this reminder of all the freebies that are available to you.
First, you know I’m working on a new nonfiction book. A couple of days ago I put four links in Of Interest to the articles that will serve as the TOC for that book.
But I’d forgotten about another nonfiction book I’d written long ago and am now offering free. It’s titled The Seven Writerly Sins and you can get it free in PDF by clicking that link. It will automatically download.
Here are the other freebies I can think of off the top of my head:
Free Writing Books & Other Nonfiction Click the link, then scroll down to “The books listed below this line are FREE.” Click any cover below that line and a PDF will automatically download.
Of particular interest are
- The Essentials of Digital Publishing (I published this before D2D was a thing but the information is still valid);
- Writing Great Beginnings;
- Self-Editing for Writers;
- Quick Guide to Self-Publishing and FAQS; and
- Creating Realistic Characters.
While you’re at the StoneThread Publishing website, in the menu click Freebies for Writers, then click any link on that page. Some of the links are duplicates of the links above, but the last one will lead you to Other Writer Resources at my author site.
While you’re at my author site, also click on Writer Downloads for a whole bunch of different freebies, everything from a tutorial for writers on Microsoft Word to other things that I and other writers have written.
Also be sure to see the free downloads for fiction writers at the Journal website and the On Writing Fiction articles listed and linked there.
Since I’m basically giving you a tour of my websites (grin), I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention my online discount store. The nonfiction there isn’t free, but it’s all priced below Amazon, Kobo, et al.
Of particular interest are
- The Nonfiction Omnibus, and the definitive
- Writing Better Fiction
Finally, free, fully searchable PDF archives: Feel free to email me at harveystanbrough@gmail.com with “Archives” in the subject line and I’ll send you the TNDJ archives for 2021–2024. Those four years alone cover almost everything I’ve ever taught about writing.
Hope this helps.
A Musing
As I recorded my numbers on my spreadsheet this morning, I had to laugh. As a result of my hiatus since January 1, I just hit 81,479 cumulative consumable words (nonfiction and fiction totaled) on the year.
Before my hiatus, I was writing that number of words in only fiction every month, plus roughly 25,000 words of nonfiction in TNDJ every month. I’ll be glad when this thing is over. (grin)
Talk with you again soon.
