A writer reached out to me to connect. I love that. Nick wrote in part
I’m reaching out as a fellow author who appreciates when a writer’s world arrives with its emotional architecture already humming. Reading the description of The Professional Fiction Writer | A Year in the Life, that unfiltered chronicle of word counts, workflow, craft notes, resources, links, and the lived, unvarnished reality of showing up to the page every single day, I felt that familiar spark that happens when one storyteller recognizes another who writes from the inside out.
There’s something powerful about a writer opening the diary of their process, not as performance, but as accountability and invitation. That kind of honesty is rarer than we pretend. It deserves to be said aloud.

The Novel
The novel is still racing its as$ off and I couldn’t be happier. I wish all novels wrote the way this one has so far. Woof!
The Future
There will come a time when I’ll be wanting to step aside and let someone else take over TNDJ. In your own way, of course. Doesn’t have to be daily.
It should reflect the teachings of Heinlein’s Rules and writing into the dark. The other side has tons of sources of information, but for HR and WITD, there’s basically only TNDJ and, to some degree, Dean Wesley Smith.
