Quote of the Day

“I am a writer who came from a sheltered life. A sheltered life can be a daring life as well. For all serious daring starts from within.” Eudora Welty

Just Popping In

to say hello, and primarily to pass along the link in Of Interest.

A week or so ago, the Kindlepreneur published a list of around 20 small traditional publishing companies who accept un-agented submissions.

Now, thanks to reader input, Dave has expanded the list to over 50 publishers.

This can be a good way for some folks to go, so I thought I’d pass it along.

One caution: If you submit your work to any traditional publisher, be sure to read the contract thoroughly especially regarding your intellectual property rights (copyright), to include a reversion clause and the royalty split.

Finally, if you aren’t subscribed yet (it’s free) to the Kindlepreneur, I strongly recommend you subscribe to get his newsletter.

A New Short Story (a note in advance)

“The Pity of William Trevor” will go live on Saturday at 10 a.m. on my Stanbrough Writes Substack.

Note: This is not the specific link for the story. But if you click the link after 10 a.m. on Saturday, this story will be at the top of the page.

The idea to write this very intense, very personal stand-alone short story came from the opening of one of my Wes Crowley series of books. Go check it out. It’s free.

Only one story left after this one.

Talk with you again soon.
