A Lovely Day

Today is a lovely day in southeast Arizona, the skies filled with rainclouds from a topical storm that hit along the coast of Mexico.

The air is cool and damp. In days gone by this is the sort of day when I would’ve slipped into my running togs and gone for a long run.

Those days are long since past, but I still love this kind of morning. This is the payoff we get for living where we do. It’s the time of year when the rain falls, everything turns emerald green, and stone of every color sparkle up at us from the ground.

Transition

I seem to be in another transition period. With 55 novels in Blackwell Ops (a nice, round number) I’ll probably write more, but I’m not in a rush.

I’m taking my time, continuing some of the experimentation with various techniques that I started in A Most Unusual Day. You’ll see (in-depth) one of those techniques tomorrow morning when the final issue of Chopped Livah goes live at 8 a.m.

And this morning at 8 a.m., about an hour after I post this, “Do-Over” will post live on Stanbrough Writes. That story (or rather excerpt, since it didn’t really wrap as a short story) continues my experimentation.

If you were tasked with describing the concept of “now,” how would you go about it? In “Do-Over” I gave it a shot. Drop by and see what you think.

I’ve already posted another short story (an actual short story) for next week too. “Looking Back on It Now” will go live on Saturday, October 17, also at 8 a.m.

I hope you all enjoy the day and the weekend, if you still have weekends.
