“To have ego means to believe in your own strength.” Barbra Streisand

A New Section on the Journal Website

Yesterday, I added a new section of Quick Links on the Journal website.

Click the link, direct your attention to the sidebar, then look for Quick Links. Great stuff there.

I’ll be adding more important links as I find them.

The Writing

The story continues to race ahead. It’s running so well that yesterday I actually forgot to do a cycling session over what I wrote the day before. I just started writing again.

Anyway, I went back at about 10:30 and cycled through the chapters I’d written the day before and then cycled through the ones I’d just written.

If I don’t run out of steam, I expect the novel will probably wrap today or tomorrow, but with this one I never know for sure.

This is without a doubt the best novel I’ve ever written. I literally have to get up and walk away from it now and then just to rest. 🙂 Then after a little while I can’t stand being away from it anymore and I have to jump back into the story.

And you get to read it FREE in daily installments on Your Morning Serial starting on May 1. If you’re serious about learning how to write from me, you want to read this. Stop by and subscribe to Your Morning Serial. It’s still free.

I also know in a very general way how this one will end. Not the actual ending, but the kind of scene it will end on, unless it really surprises me.

Usually knowing how or where a novel will end annoys me and I rush to get there. But judging from the way the characters are running, there’s so much left to happen between where the story is currently and the ending I’m still hyper excited.

Plus this novel gave me the title for the probable next novel. If that works out it will be a Blackwell Ops novel too, and it will feature some of the same characters plus some new ones who have yet to introduce themselves.

But I won’t feature that one on Your Morning Serial, though I anticipate a new novels will still wrap about every two weeks and pop up at my online discount store.

While I’m writing that one (or those), starting In June on Your Morning Serial I’ll probably serialize one of my older novels from a different genre. Shrug. I dunno.

Anyway, I’m very much looking forward to writing that next novel, and maybe the next two or three or five or ten. (grin)

I hope you find or have found the same level of excitement with your own writing.

Whatever you believe, unreasoning fear and the myths that outlining, revising, and rewriting will make your work better are lies. They will always slow your progress as a writer or stop you cold. I will never teach the myths on this blog.

Writing fiction should never be something that stresses you out. It should be fun. On this blog I teach Writing Into the Dark and adherence to Heinlein’s Rules. Because of WITD and because I endeavor to follow those Rules I am a prolific professional fiction writer. You can be too.
