The Bradbury Challenge
The whole point of the Challenge is to have fun and grow as a writer. There is no cost. The only requirement is to write at least one short story per week. Feel free to jump in at any time.
During the past week, in addition to whatever other fiction they’re writing, the following writers reported these new stories:
- Erin Donoho “The Wreck of the Settle Island Ferry” 3800 historical action/adventure
- Loyd Jenkins “The Man in the Scarecrow Coat” 3400 Weird Western
- Vanessa V. Kilmer “Pale Moon Light” 2905 Alternative
- Christopher Ridge “Got’m by the Balls” Noir 1110
- Dave Taylor “The Desert’s Secrets” 4,531 Time Travel
Congratulations to these writers.
Coming Soon
I wrote a series of posts titled Microsoft Word for Writer back in 2013. Then I updated it and posted it again in 2015. I’ve been offering it free of charge for writers ever since. You can find it here.
But I recently realized I’d inadvertently omitted some things from those posts that writers might not realize on their own.
Now I’ve decided to write a series of posts titled Microsoft Word for Writers 2025. I don’t intend to publish those posts as a book, but I don’t mind if you copy and paste them into a binder or whatever for your own use.
If you’re a Mac person, most of the advice in that series will also work with Pages, though there will be some differences in your menu, etc. So you’ll have to make a few adjustments.
Likewise, the posts will work if you use a Word alternative, like OpenOffice, LibreOffice, etc. Again, there might be some minor differences.
Look for that series of posts to begin sometime in the next week or so.
As the posts come out, I’d also like you to ask any questions you have. If you do that, I’ll update the post before I put them all together in a Word doc, then save them as a PDF and make them available for free download on the site.
Talk with you again soon.
