The Nick Spalding Saga
I published The Nick Spalding Saga yesterday to Amazon and D2D, then uploaded it to my discount store.
It’s $17.99 everywhere else but $15.99 on my store. However, as I’ll announce to Your Morning Serial readers next week (after they get a taste of Nightfall, the first book), you can also get the Saga for only $9.99 with a coupon.
NOW, all of that said, if I were you I would wait until I read the first installment of Nightfall to see whether I want the whole 4-volume story. Then I’d jump on that coupon code with both feet. (grin)
If you decide you want it, you can find the complete saga here. The coupon code is 6AOL61F2K7. (You’ll add the coupon code during the checkout process.)
And sure, feel free to share.
Re “Best Sites for Writers”
TNDJ reader Emilia P had such a good comment I thought I’d use it here as a short guest post:
I took a quick look. Best Indie Publishing Websites 2025 has some names I recognize.
I remember Alli Alliance of Independent Authors from when I was starting writing, They gave good advice then, especially on publishing side. When I make some money out of writing, I’d look into joining ALLI for some group support and news on publishing.
I think Michael La Ronn is friends with Dean Wesley Smith and Kristine Kathryn Rusch, which is a good sign. I’ve watched some of his videos on programs for writers. I’d check his videos.
I receive David Gaughran’s emails and he has advice which seems good. I haven’t published stories so I’m reading about marketing for the future. He emphasizes newsletters as a marketing tool.
In general, always check the source. While I trust ALLI, Michael La Ronn, and David Gaughran to have useful advice, everyone should do their own check and even then, think before you accept the advice.
Thanks, Emilia. Great advice.
Getting Back Into the Swing
Amidst ongoing early morning yard projects (raking mesquite beans, planting grass, finishing the fence) yesterday I also did more work to rearrange my office in the Hovel.
It’s shaping up nicely. Bigger and more open. This morning’s the first time in a while that I actually looked forward to coming out to work.
When I’m finished my office will take up the east two-thirds (or more) of the 20×8 room. Then I plan to buy some 2×2 furring strips and run them floor to ceiling along the compressed-mud walls so I can run other strips across them and hang some of the many paintings and prints that I have.
I like looking at the paintings. They’ve often given me story or novel ideas. In fact, what eventually became a novella called Jobs Like That and later Nightfall and then the Nick Spalding saga started with me glancing at a print. I’ve written at least two short stories that resulted from looking at that print too.
Sometime in the next few days I plan to get back to writing new stuff.
Talk with you again soon.
