Quote of the Day

“It’s easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled.” Mark Twain

Yesterday I wrote a blog post for HarveyStanbrough.com for 18 February, then moved another one to 25 February. And my current thinking is, that will be that.

Beginning in March, the blog over there will effectively become my author newsletter. I plan to alternate posts every few weeks. One post will have to do with my characters and/or series and/or settings or worlds, and the next (at my current rate of production), will announce a new release or releases.

And occasionally I’ll give away a novel or novella or short story collection. (grin)

So if you enjoy my work or think you might, and if you aren’t already a subscriber over at HarveyStanbrough.com, you might want to head over there and sign up. It’s free. After all, what better way to verify that I practice what I preach than to read some of my fiction? (grin)

In the meantime, if you’ve learned anything from me in this Journal, please tell your writer friends about it. Frankly, I’m expecting a flurry of unsubscribes from my new author blog, and I’m hoping for some new subscribers (writers) at this one.

So if you’ve been subscribing to both my blogs for awhile, bless you. You’re about to get a whole lot more information as both a writer and a reader. It’s gonna be GOOD, folks. (grin)

Wow. I was completely underwhelmed at the trickle of comments on my PWW post yesterday. One friend reported via email that he tried to post a comment but it didn’t “take.” Then I posted a comment as a test (that one worked fine) and deleted it. Then Duke posted a comment and I responded. (Thanks for not leaving me hanging, Duke.)

I got a review on The Cazadores Lounge and Lonely Place via email, and it was all good: “Wonderful story, well written, great character development.” Gracias, though I’m sure the reviewer doesn’t read this blog.

In case you missed it, I’m giving away that novel right now in Kindle, Nook/Apple and PDF format. So one last chance—if you’d like to read he Cazadores Lounge and Lonely Place, email me at harveystanbrough@gmail.com and let me know which eformat you’d like to read. I’ll send it right out.

I’m on the verge of setting aside my current WIP and starting a new novel. I think somewhere along the line I started thinking about it (critical voice), so we’ll see. When I get back to it tomorrow, that will tell the tale. Right now it’s heavy on the psychological aspects, and for some reason that’s bugging me.

Today is Super Bowl Sunday (duh). I haven’t watched a super bowl or even a professional football game for several years, ever since many of those grown men (and multi-millionaires) playing a child’s game took it upon themselves to bite the hand that feeds them.

But this year I’m making an exception and watching the game. However, I don’t have a particular dog in the hunt, so if it’s important to you, I hope your team wins.

Like on a typical Thanksgiving Day, there will be good food (well, good for the soul anyway), entertainment, and a lot of sitting around doing nothing. I’m looking forward to it.

Tomorrow I’ll be back to work and play. I hope you have an enjoyable day too.

Talk with you again soon.
