The Journal, Saturday, May 26

Hey Folks,

Still thinking of how to handle the two main websites, HarveyStanbrough.com and HEStanbrough.com.

For a moment, I even thought I might leave both sites as they are and add a twice-monthly post for readers to HarveyStanbrough.com. And keep up the weekly Pro Writers posts.

But that’s a lot of work. And I already do a lot of work. (grin)

I also thought, very briefly, of moving this Journal back over there.

Been there, done that. And it didn’t work well, especially given that this is a semi-daily blog.

Right now, I have weekly Pro Writers blog posts scheduled out through the middle of July. A new blog post goes live every Tuesday.

I also have 31 novels, 5 novellas, and 29 short story collections to talk about (promote). And all of that’s in addition to 4 major poetry collections.

And of course, more novels and short story collections are still to come.

So here’s what I’m thinking at the moment:

1. I’ll adjust the scheduled release dates on the Pro Writers posts so they post every other week instead of every week.

2. Then I’ll fill the blank spots that are left with a series of new posts aimed at readers. So those will come out every other week as well.

2a. Each of those will summarize and promote a novel or a series or a short story collection.

2b. During the week that post is live, readers will also be able to buy the subject publication at a discount.

Primarily, this will give me some breathing room to decide whether to eventually discontinue the Pro Writers blog on the main site and move it over here. And it would also enable me to do something for readers.

Whether you’re reading this via email, on the website itself or via Facebook, I’d really like to hear your thoughts and opinions on all of this.

Today will be an admin day (covers, promo documents, etc.) combined with a trip to Sierra Vista to purchase a new filter for our ice maker. A disabled icemaker at this time of the year in southest Arizona is Not A Good Thing. (grin)

Tomorrow also will be an admin day for covers and so on. I have a novel and 11 short stories for which I don’t even have cover art yet. Y’can’t sell ’em if y’don’t publish ’em.

See you soon.

The pickings have been thin over at Dean’s site recently. He and Kris are completing their move to Las Vegas. In today’s brief placeholder post, he says he expects to be back to normal posting in the next few days.

In the meantime, a reminder: if you’d like to take advantage of his offer of $900 worth of workshops for $500, time’s running out.
