Hey Folks,
Well, surprises happen. Last night not long after I’d gone to bed, my wife came in to say my son and his wife and three of my grandchildren were on their way down from Flagstaff for the weekend.
I got up and we got things ready. Still, I was determined to get up earlier than usual to get as much done on The Storytellers as possible. The story is really running.
The structure is interesting too, as it’s developed. There’s an introductory section, which is the beginning of the overall story that wraps the novel.
Then there’s a story. After that, I shifted back to where the introduction left off and inserted an “Intermission,” in which I returned to the overall story.
That led to another story, which will lead to another intermission after it ends. Very interesting, and the whole story flows just as if it has nothing better to do. (grin)
I actually challenged a friend (who is also a character in the overall story) to do the same thing, write his version of the same book with his own stories and “intermissions,” but I don’t know whether he’ll do that. We’ll see.
For now, in the first long session (and maybe the only one today) with only one short break, I wrote 1500 words. I’ll add a bit more while I finish a cigar, then head up to the house to see what’s what for the day.
Well, it’s after noon, so I’m not going to get anything else done in writing today. That’s all right. I hope to sack out early today and start early tomorrow morning.
