A Hastily Offered Correction

In yesterday’s Journal, for some reason I reported the wrong title of my own book.

The correct title is Blackwell Ops 20: Soleada Garcia: Into the Future. Not “Looking to” the Future. Not a major difference, but Soleada was a little chapped.

Her arms crossed over her chest and tapping the toe of one boot on the floor, she said, “What did you think you were doing, Mr. Writing Man? You will correct that, and you will correct it immediately.”

“Bueno, señorita. Y lo siento.”

“All Promo All the Time”

is something that will never happen in this Journal as it has happened in so many other blogs on writing that I’ve followed and eventually left over the years.

I’ll stop writing the Journal altogether before it comes to that.

But every now and then, it becomes necessary to post a blog that’s “all promo.” This is one of those times.

Seeking Blurbs and Reviews

Several of you have received one iteration or another of the new nonfiction book, Writing Better Fiction. Now as the time for publication nears, I’m looking for endorsements: blurbs and reviews.

I might use them or excerpts from them inside the book in a “What Writers Are Saying About Writing Better Fiction” or as back-cover blurbs or in other promotions.

If you would like to write a blurb or review, please send it to me at harveystanbrough[at]gmail.com.

After the review or blurb, please be sure to include how you would like the attribution to read: Name (or Pen Name), Attribution (Writer, Author, or whatever).

If you have a website, whether or not the review or blurb is published on it, include it if you like so I can refer readers there.

Clarified Ordering Instructions for Writing Better Fiction

If you would like a copy of Writing Better Fiction, you can get it directly from me at harveystanbrough[at]gmail.com. I will send it directly to you (binder-ready paper in a plastic envelope or as an ebook, your choice) when it’s published.

The book is with my nonfiction first reader now, so it shouldn’t be much longer.

Payment

You can use PayPal (preferred). Either click the Donate Now link at the bottom of any post (easiest), or from your PayPal account, click Send Money and enter my email address.

You can also send a personal check payable to Mona Stanbrough to PO Box 604, St. David AZ 85630.

Costs

• If you want the paper edition (binder-ready, delivered in a plastic envelope) the cost is $18. Please be sure to send me your mailing address. I’ll also send you a searchable PDF (if you let me know you want it) free of charge.
• If you want only the ebook version in .mobi, .epub, or printable PDF, the cost is $9.

Notes

1. The paper book will always be available only from me. You won’t be able to buy it via Amazon or wherever.

2. Both prices will go up once the book is published. The paper edition will cost $25, and the ebook edition will cost $14.99.
