Wow. Rolled out late this morning. I couldn’t see the clock and thought it was around 2 or so, but when I got to the kitchen to fix my coffee, I learned it was almost 4.
To the novel at 5:40. I might finish it today. Either way, this should be an exciting day of fiction writing for me.
At 11:50 I’d written only a little over 1000 new words of fiction. It took a couple of hours to convince my protagonists to tell me where they’re going. (grin) A break at noon, then back to the novel at 12:30.
I was expecting a big day of writing today, but it just didn’t work out that way. My attention was split among several small things I had to get done, so…
But the action in the novel is starting to pick up again. More than likely I’ll finish this one tomorrow. But for today I have limited time, so rather than pushing it, I’m calling it with less than I would like to have done.

Great post Harvey. I’ve been thinking of a new challenge for myself and you just gave it me.
A short story a week past your challenge of 72 weeks. That will be a very powerful streak once I move on it. I’m starting this week.
Dean is offering a really great class but I can’t quite afford that at this time. But this is something I can still do in the background for myself.

Thanks, Chris, and I wish you luck. But if you go past a year, you won’t really need luck. Just keep writing one a week. Mine only ended at 72 weeks because I ended it on purpose. One of the stupidest things I’ve ever done. One week, to keep the streak going, I even wrote a story called “Deadline.” And finished it about an hour before my week was up. (grin)
One thought… if you’re going to play Dean’s game in the background, each story has to be at least 2000 words too. (grin) This would also be a great opportunity to stretch yourself and test other genres. I’m excited for you. Let me know how it’s going from time to time.
