Quotes of the Day

“I realized that coming up with writing topics did not require anything greater than an attunement to the everyday things around me….” Christine M. Estel

“My barn having burned down, I can now see the moon.” Mizuta Masahide

“The Delete button on PG’s keyboard will never gather dust, but the scope of its domain will remain limited to characters, words, the odd paragraph and an occasional draft version of a finished document saved in at least two other places.” The Passive Guy

“Nothing much to talk about today,” he said, much to the surprise and relief of everyone in the room.

For those who are interested, the novel is coming along well. Yesterday was actually a bit of a rough writing day but I employed Keep Coming Back (one of my mantras) and eventually discovered another one: Don’t Stop While the Words Are Coming.

At what I thought was the end of the day, I tallied my word count and was pleased to see I’d written over 4600 words. But as I was adding that to my Journal template over on the business computer, a character said something in my head. So I swiveled back to the writing ‘puter and wrote it down. When I looked up again, my tally had increased to just over 5000 words.

Talk with you again soon.

  1. Keep coming ba k is key. And dont stop while words are coming is truth!
I also (thankfully) don’t understand what it feels like to be at a loss for ideas. I literally have them banging on the inside of my skull, trying to get my attention. Maybe I should start writing a few if them.
And before I finished that sentence the Heinlein rule of “finish what you write’ stood up and coughed.
    Okay
