The Journal, Wednesday, September 26

Hey Folks,

Well, the doc appointment yesterday went well. I found out I get my new internal pacemaker/defibrillator on the morning of October 4.

I also learned we won’t find out whether my heart function will improve or how much for a month or longer. (They recommend three months, but expect to see a trend in one month.) So we’ll see how that goes.

Either way, it just is what it is, and I’m entering a new stage of life. In the Corps we had a saying we used to toss back and forth when we were confronted by a less-than-ideal or otherwise annoying situation:

Every day’s a holiday
and every meal’s a banquet.
You WILL enjoy it.
(And that’s an order.)
Good stuff, eh? (grin)

According to a newsletter I receive (if you have a CreateSpace account, you probably received it too), CreateSpace and Kindle Direct Publishing will now become one service.

This doesn’t sound like an idea that’s all bad. Besides, it simply is what it is. There’s an old Mexican saying: What cannot be remedied must be endured.

But for me personally, this notice, combined with extremely low print sales of the 31 major titles I’ve taken to print, reinforces my decision to stick with digital publishing and eschew print publication.

If you don’t currently have a CreateSpace account (or otherwise didn’t see the newsletter) and would like a copy of the full newsletter, email me and I’ll forward it to you.

Just editing today and/or maybe judging those contest entries I mentioned awhile back. Fortunately they gave me a distant deadline, so no major rush on those.

By the way, thanks for hanging-in. I’m looking forward to this medical stuff being behind me so I can get back to my version of “normal,” including this Journal.

I’ll post this now so I don’t forget later.

Talk with you again soon.
