Yesterday
I put off the novel for one more day. Today, if the day goes to plan, will be mostlywriting.
In addition to publishing (soon) the Blackwell Ops Soleada Garcia Subseries, I also wanted to re-order the original series to reflect the chronological sequence of the overall series.
That meant
- “unpublishing” all 7 novels,
- renaming and redesigning all 7 covers,
- tweaking the title, metadata (front matter and end matter) in all 7 manuscripts, and
- resubmitting every manuscript as a “new” book.
Why? Because all 7 novels had a D2D ISBN under the old titles. Since I changed the titles, they require a new ISBN.
So the “new” books are now
- BO 14 Soleada Garcia: Origin Story,
- BO 15 Soleada Garcia: Settled,
- BO 16 Soleada Garcia: Trying Times,
- BO 17 Soleada Garcia: Into the Future,
- BO 18 Charlie Task: Gone,
- BO 19 Soleada Garcia: Hunting a Hunter, and
- BO 20 Soleada Garcia: Tarea-Garcia
Which of course meant I also had to change the covers and the D2D and Amazon buy links on StoneThread Publishing.
That’s why it was important to get it all done yesterday: to cause as little down time, inconvenience, and confusion among readers as possible.
During This Process, I
- revised and updated all 7 covers,
- did a preliminary revision on all 7 manuscripts (titles, front matter and end matter only),
- went through all 7 individual manuscripts and applied my first reader’s updated input,
- revised and updated the 7 individual book pages,
- revised and updated the BO genre page on STP on STP,
- unpublished all 7 books from D2D and uploaded the 7 “new” books, and
- unpublished all 7 books from Amazon and uploaded the 7 “new” books.
Then I compiled and published the omnibus, collected Blackwell Ops Soleada Garcia Subseries. It came out to 289,777 words. That’s a lot of good reading in 7 novels.
Anyway….
Appearance Postponed
Vin Zandri (that’s vinzandri.com) is experiencing technical difficulties in Florence, Italy. His microphone blew up or something. From what I understand, flooding was widespread but there were no significant casualties. (grin)
So we’ll do the Zandri & Uncle Harv show later this month, after he gets back. Which at least tells us he’s actually coming back. If it was me, I might be tempted to just stay over there.
